IS THIS A WHISKEY TASTING OR A PLAY?
Indeed! It is both.

The Whiskey Tasting was created in the spring of 2019 by director Amanda Berg Wilson and playwright David Jacobi on a commission from DCPA Off-Center. In its original iteration it was a whiskey tasting for two audience members with one performer/bartender. We’ve now adapted it to be an online immersive experience for you to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your home.

The Whiskey Tasting experience can accommodate three screens with up to two audience members per screen, for no more than six (6) audience members at a time. Coordinate with your friends and buy all three screens for a shared evening in, or purchase a single screen and experience the show with strangers from other homes in the Denver/Boulder area. Both situations are wonderful ways to experience the show–and in either case, you’ll all know one another better by evening’s end.

HOW DOES THE TICKETING PROCESS WORK?
We are lucky to partner with Big Red F restaurant group to deliver you a flight of the four whiskeys central to The Whiskey Tasting experience. Boulder area deliveries or pick-ups will be from the West End Tavern; Denver area deliveries or pick-ups will be from The Post Rosedale.

Because they are providing the alcohol, you will purchase your ticket through the West End website.

Here is how to purchase your ticket:

  1. From our home page, select the day of the week and time you’d like to attend from the four options presented.
  2. You will be directed to the West End’s website. Purchase one “package” for the date and showtime of your choice. That is your ticket, good for one screen and up to two people.
  3. You then will be directed to the whiskey and food menu. Purchase one whiskey flight per audience member. The flights are portioned enough for one person, so we do not recommend sharing a flight between two people.
  4. Choose whether or not you’d like to pick your whiskey up, or have it delivered for $5. Please make sure to check out the delivery areas for Boulder and for Denver in the maps below. If you are not in the delivery area, please choose “Pick Up,” and make sure you give yourself time on your show day to pick your flights up before “curtain!”

  5. Why not choose some delicious food too? Big Red F has worked hard to curate some delicious options for a pre-show meal. However, food is not a part of the show, so we recommend eating in advance.
  6. Please note that sales tax is incorporated into the price of the show package, whiskey flights, and optional menu items. However, there is a 6% fee on your tickets for the evening to cover processing charges, and a $1/order fee to cover the ticketing platform.

WHAT IS IMMERSIVE THEATRE
Immersive experiences take the audience out of the typical theatre and inside the world of a piece. It’s an experience where you become a part of the story. The Whiskey Tasting invites you to share as well as to witness, so we encourage you to be ready to jump in.

I AM UNDER 21. CAN I SEE THE SHOW?
No. All of our performances are strictly 21+.

MY CHILD IS UNDER 21. CAN THEY ATTEND IF I AM WITH THEM?
We have crafted this experience for adults who are over 21. Audiences under 21 are not permitted to attend any performance, under any circumstances.

WHERE ARE MY TICKETS?
You will receive a receipt after purchasing your tickets. Then, 48 hours in advance of your show, you will receive a Zoom link that is good only for your show. This email will contain additional instructions, including how to best prep for the experience at home.

I WANT TO PURCHASE TICKETS AS A GIFT BUT I WANT THE RECIPIENT TO BE ABLE TO CHOOSE THE DATE OF THE SHOW. HOW SHOULD I DO IT?
Your best bet is to surprise them with a gift certificate, then have them pick an available date on our website and purchase the tickets for them. Availability is not guaranteed and these shows are expected to sell out quickly – please plan ahead! To purchase a gift certificate, please email thecatamounts@gmail.com.

I CAN’T ATTEND THE SHOW ON MY TICKET DATE. CAN I EXCHANGE MY TICKETS FOR A DIFFERENT DATE?
If your ticket date is more than 14 days away, you may call the box office at 720-468-0487 or email thecatamounts@gmail.com to inquire about inventory. If tickets are available for another show, the exchange is subject to a ticket fee and the difference in pricing (should there be any). Unfortunately, due to demand, if your ticket date is less than 14 days away, we are unable to exchange the tickets.

CAN I GET A REFUND?
All orders are final and all tickets are non-refundable.

I DON’T CONSUME ALCOHOL. CAN I STILL EXPERIENCE THE WHISKEY TASTING?
While the show has been designed around a tasting of four whiskeys, we believe the experience is still one that can be enjoyed without imbibing. We do not have a non-alcoholic pairing, so encourage you to bring along your favorite beverage to sip as you experience the show.

I DON’T LIVE CLOSE ENOUGH TO HAVE THE WHISKEY DELIVERED OR TO PICK IT UP. CAN I STILL EXPERIENCE THE WHISKEY TASTING?
